Dear Juken New Zealand
The Children of Makauri School would like to thank Juken New Zealand for the kind donation of dry firewood. This firewood was raffled to help fundraise for pest control activities around the school grounds. We realise rats are a major threat to New Zealand native birds and animals and kill approximately 25,000 birds within New Zealand each year.
We have used the funds raised, to buy some traps and also to make others with the help of our schools caretaker. We have placed the traps around the school and our kindergarten as well as in the creek.
