Yes – Where H3.1 or H1.2 treated J-Ply or J-Frame is cut, drilled or machined, a suitable remedial action to replace lost preservative treated wood shall be applied to the cut surfaces. Application as per preservative manufacturers Technical Data.
“Holdfast Metalex Green” or ”Clear” (Green Metalex is recommended where the green colour is not undesirable.) for H3.1 or H1.2 Hazard Class applications, or “Protim FrameSaver” for H1.2 Hazard Class applications. Both these treatments are readily available in NZ, or a product of similar quality and effectiveness.
