Superstrand, like Strandboard, is made from wood flakes (rather than chips) which are glued and pressed together to form high-density panels suitable for a variety of residential or commercial uses. It has features similar to Strandboard but with enhanced durability. It is also treated with biodegradable organic preservatives to provide resistance against fungal decay and insect attack. It is ideally suited for flooring in “wet” areas such as bathrooms, laundries, toilets and kitchens.
Superstrand is engineered from 100% sustainable NZ Radiata pine and it is made in accordance with strict quality and environmental standards (ISO, FSC). Sharing many of the features and benefits of Strandboard (but with extra durability and preservative treated to provide protection against fungal decay and insect attack), Superstrand has the versatility for a wide range of applications – including for use in “wet” areas as described in NZS 3602:2003. Superstrand meets the requirements of NZS 3640:2003 for hazard class H3.1, carries the NZ Timber Preservation Councils WOODmark® symbol and meets the E zero formaldehyde emissions level.
