14/10/09 - Today the
"Southern Lily" sailed from Auckland for Apia in Samoa with $NZ30,000 of Juken framing and plywood products which the Company is donating to assist with the Samoan & Tongan Tsunami Relief effort. The donated product will be distributed under the auspices of the Disaster Management Organisation (DMO) set up by the Samoan Government. With advice and involvement from the Red Cross it will be used predominantly for temporary relief housing in the badly affected southern part of Samoa, although some product will be used on the devastated Tongan island of Niuatoputato.
13/10/09 - In the
"Northland Age" newspaper today, Dennis Clarke (Mill Manager of Juken's two Kaitaia mills) described the exciting developments and refinements of Panel products at his Mills. He also outlined a significant product supply arrangement that Juken has entered into with a third party and the efforts that have been made to secure and grow markets overseas and domestically. These developments and initiatives go a long way towards securing the future of the Company in the northern part of NZ where Juken is a significant and important part of the regional economy and life-style. As he says "...we're looking pretty solid [and]...we're getting a lot of interest overseas...."
